DIY Sugar Scrub

September 27, 2018

I just recently discovered sugar scrub and all I can think is...where has this been my entire life?!! Clearly right in front of me, but never in my bathroom for some reason. Think, getting out of the shower with perfectly soft skin that smells so yummy, and is actually GOOD for your body.

Sugar scrubs help to exfoliate, detox, and add nourishing oils to your skin without the stickiness of a lotion. This majorly helps in keeping blemishes off of my body, and keeps those pesky ingrown hairs from beginning form. On top of all of that, you also get the benefits of whatever essential oil you decide to use! I love love using peppermint oil before bed to calm my nerves and open up my airways, or citrus oils in the morning to wake me up and elevate my mood. Whatever oil you decide to use, this scrub turns out PERFECT and is like, 1/10th of the cost of actually buying it. Oh, and prep time? 3 minutes if you're really indulging in the process. Let's get started!

Ingredients:

-1 1/2 Cups Organic Cane Sugar (unrefined/unbleached)

-3 TBSP Grapeseed Oil

-30-40 Drops of your favorite essential oil, or a mix of multiple essential oils!

And that's it! It's so much fun to get creative and mix it up with different combinations of oil. The scent lasts long after you shower, and it's such a fun way to practice self-care. Let me know what your favorite oil combinations are! I'm working on creating a pumpkin spice one next.
