Gut-Healing Protein Shake

October 31, 2017

Ever since going paleo, I have been desperately searching for a paleo-compliant protein powder. I tried countless pea proteins that tasted like...peas, until I finally came across collagen peptides to up my protein intake a bit. Although this is extremely helpful and makes my tummy feel great, I was looking for something a bit higher in protein, and a way to switch it up so I am getting other nutrients aside from those found in collagen.

One day, I was walking through Earth Fare and came across what read "Bone Broth Protein" by Ancient Nutrition. I read basically every label with high hopes, but knew that it had SOME ingredient that would irritate my gut. But being the hope filled individual that I am, I decided it was worth the try. Guys, these ingredients are INCREDIBLE. I guess this is a good stopping point to say **this is not sponsored**. I actually am OBSESSED with this brand and can't get over how great they are! I got the Pure flavor, and the ingredients read "Chicken bone broth protein concentrate". What. The other flavors that I have found to not have added emulsifiers or anything that could irritate my gut are the Turmeric, and Apple Cinnamon flavor. I haven't tried these yet, but I am definitely have plans on it.

So, to make this EXTRA gut-healing, I added my own ingredients. The flavor comes out a lot like a chocolate coffee flavor, which is maybe the best thing I could imagine since I gave up coffee. If you try this, leave a comment and let me know how it went! I don't think you'll be disappointed. Okay, let's get into the ingredients.
