Breaded Fried Paleo Okra. Four words that just sound like they just don't belong together...Oh, but they do. If you grew up in the south specifically, you know that fried okra is a major food group and usually accompanies something like chicken and dumplings. If it tells you anything, I didn't even know some people ate un-breaded okra until like, 5 weeks ago (which by the way, tried it, and wasn't a fan). But I came up with a substitute!! And let me tell you, it tastes like the real deal.
Okra is high in potassium, Vitamin C, B, folic acid, calcium, and so many other benefits!
This is a super quick side dish to throw together and a great option for Christmas dinner!
This okra recipe is only 3 ingredients (4 if you count the okra) and only takes about 15 minutes total! And like always, junk-food eater tasted and approved. Let's get started:
All you need is..
-Okra (I like to get mine frozen and pre-cut)
-Himalayan Pink Salt to taste
Step #1: If your okra is frozen, place in a bowl and microwave for one minute to melt down enough to stick to the coconut flour.
Step #2: Remove from microwave and evenly coat with avocado oil, coconut flour, and Himalayan pink salt to taste. **all of these amounts completely depend on how much okra you are using.
Step #3: Heat a skillet on medium to high and cover bottom with avocado oil. Add Okra. Fry until crispy and completely thawed/warmed.
