4 Different Ways to Use Manuka Honey

I don’t think I’ve ever gone into detail about how much I’m literally obsessed with Manuka honey before, but uhm…I’m obsessed! I use it almost everyday, and for so many different things. Manuka honey is much different than the normal honey you'd buy at the grocery store, and offers many more benefits. So basically, Manuka honey is sourced from bees that feed on the Manuka plant in New Zealand. And what sets it apart so much? It’s antibacterial properties due to the methylglyoxal enzymes it contains. In short, the higher UMF and MGO rating, the better.

(P.S., I got this Manuka for free, but 5 UMF isn't a particularly high rating. Look for higher like this)

I’m going to give you a quick rundown on the top ways I use Manuka honey, and surprisingly, the least common way I personally use it is ingesting it.

#1: Face Mask

-> Manuka honey alone, or Manuka mixed with turmeric, and/or lemon juice does an amazing job at clearing up acne, creating a more even skin tone, and eliminating any bacteria that might be contributing to clogged pores. So when I feel like my skin needs a little extra love, I whip up a Manuka honey mask, and leave it on for around 20 minutes.

#2: Wounds and cuts

->Every time I get a cut, I always reach for my Manuka, and a bandage. Instead of antibiotic oil, I place a little Manuka on the wound, cover with a bandaid, and repeat the process until it’s closed up and healed. And from my experience, it speeds along the healing process SO MUCH faster, and I’ve been able to avoid any infections with this method.

#3: Ingrown hairs

->Gross, I know. Every time I get an ingrown hair, I cover it with Manuka until it disappears, or surfaces. The high sugar content and the antibacterial properties make it extremely difficult for an infection or unwanted hair to thrive, and it takes care of the problem pretty quickly.

#4: Consuming

-> Manuka balances your digestive system, and uses it’s antibacterial properties to fight H-Pylori, ulcers, and also has the benefit of adding prebiotics to your system. Win win, win win.

I could go on and on, but Manuka has seriously changed my life, and been such an amazing resource to replace so many of the toxic products I was using. Manuka = the way to go.
