Since eliminating most starches, eggs, and nuts, my pancake trials have had a high failure rate. And by high, I mean 100% up to this point. Every single time I have attempted a pancake, it turned out becoming a permanent part of my pan, and completely inedibal. Experimentation is just the reality of having a highly restricted diet, and normally, I'm okay with it...but after so many trials, I JUST WANTED MY PANCAKES!

I had...

Pop-Tarts are kind of a genius idea...at least for someone like me with a constant sweet tooth, a love for all things bready, and always feeling like there's not enough time in the day. The marketing really pulls you in, until you realize that they are full of artificial dyes, TBHQ, and high fructose corn syrup. Well, I guess until you start caring that they are full of all of this..back then...I didn't really care. Knowledge...

Although I follow an SCD-based diet, I like to keep my meat to a maximum of two meals per day. I almost always prefer these meals to be lunch and dinner, which means that breakfast can become pretty limiting without some major creativity. Luckily, my creativity is soaring these days (or more like my desperation to switch things up), and I'm all about experimenting with new recipes!

Throwing it back to my not-so-healthy-eating-...

Now since I'm following more of an SCD/AIP diet (which has made me feel 100x better btw), potatoes are totally out of the question. The problem is...sweet potatoes made up like, 60% of my diet when I was AIP (the other 40% was plantains), and switching to more SCD based left me confused to say the least. So, I quickly started looking for my starch replacements, and started to realize that spaghetti squash was a great alternati...

Don't you miss just being able to grab a donut on the way out the door in the mornings? I remember every Sunday morning my parents would go get a dozen donuts from the bakery section of our local grocery store for the whole family before church. I'm drooling and also throwing up at the same time right now. Those were the days. Well, I'd say the last donut I've had was at least five years ago now, which kind of ripped a part of...

Growing up, I was a major chocolate fanatic. Like, eat an entire 12 pack of Twix everyday chocolate fanatic. Basically, I lived for the months of October-December. So if you can’t tell by now, when I switched to AIP, giving up chocolate was NOT an option. So I set out on a mission. A chocolate mission. Lucky for you I’ve already done all the hard work and have tons of chocolatey delicious recipes coming!

Okay, let’s get into th...

I am just getting back into the swing of things after a much needed fall break filled with apple picking, lots of yummy baking, and the sleep I've been needing for a long long time. Usually I'm the type of person to choose smoothie bowls or juices for breakfast, but fall and winter weather always gets me in the warm, sweet, cinnamon-y mood. Thus, this creation came about. I don't know about you, but traveling (even on planes)...

I told you I like breakfast food... I have been looking for a muffin recipe that doesn't come out dry, crumbly, and flavorless since I went grain free. I found tons that included arrowroot and tapioca, but if you're like me, both of those ingredients make me look like I am with child. So, stop right where you are, because I've already made enough failed recipes for the both of us. Get ready for some delicious, moist, AIP muffi...

So I know that a lot of my posts make me sound like I think every recipe is the best thing ever, and it's because I do; but this recipe is SERIOUSLY life-changing. Guys, when I went AIP, cereal seemed out the window. Gluten-free cereal was easy to find, but now it just seemed out of the question. Searching through Pinterest, I discovered just this week (one year later) that I didn't have to give up my first love since apparen...

As someone who could have breakfast for literally every meal of the day, when I first went AIP, I immediately began looking up waffle recipes. I quickly became frustrated because every single paleo waffle recipe I found included half a dozen eggs which is much to many to easily substitute. If I did happen upon an AIP waffle recipe, I would spend an hour in the kitchen only for the recipe to fall apart, crumble, or simply never...
